David Novak (Split, Croatia)
a.k.a. ‘The Waste Warrior’
“Living in the 2000’s is just a time of waste.”
David Novak mainly uses waste as his canvas. Packaging paper and carton, leftovers of all kind of DIY board materials like MDF, wood and veneer. But also old paintings retrieved from thrift stores. While avoiding figurative forms, he always tries to find balance in his compositions. Novak often does not indicate how a painting is intended. This gives the viewer maximum freedom to interpret a piece as they see fit.
